If postpartum depression is now well known and easily identified by professionals, Postpartum PTSD is something people are not really aware of. Yet, for many reasons women (or partners) can present postpartum-PTSD (PP-PTSD) or childbirth-related PTSD (CR-PTSD) and suffer in silence for years. It is not easy to talk to people about an experience related to something perceived as very natural. Among other consequences they can have difficulties in bonding with the child, extreem anxiety, panic attacks, irrational fear of death, rumination, avoidance of anything that could remind them the experience they had. Complications can occur if the issue is not addressed properly.
